stBTC serves as a 1:1 representation for BTC staked in Acre.

The stBTC token uses the ERC-4626 token standard, which is designed to make vaults that handle yield generation more efficient.

Token Standard

• The amount of stBTC in a user's wallet does not change over time, but instead the value of stBTC.
• ERC-4626 are composable in DeFi, meaning you can borrow against your stBTC or use it to provide liquidity and earn additional yield.

How do stBTC holders receive yield?

• stBTC is a "receipt" for the user's BTC stake in Acre vaults. The yield accrued through Acre staking is redeemable with stBTC.
